An update and a ramble

So much for updating weekly. I suppose I've just gonna start updating this blog whenever I feel like it.

Hylophobia is done! It didn't turn out as I hoped it would, and the film quality turned out terribly. Turns out the camera I used wasn't quite as good at filming in the dark as I had hoped it would. Nevertheless, I worked with what I had. In the end, it was nothing like I had planned it to be, but I still learned a few things from the process.

  • Always have a plan.
  • Estimate how much time you'll need to work on the project, then double that.
  • Over-prepared is better than under-prepared.
  • Never be afraid to ask for help.
  • Don't limit your imagination or inspiration.
  • A film is never completed until the premiere.

Looking back, I wish I had spent more time on being prepared and having a plan. But things don't always go the way we want them to. I'm learning that now more than ever before. I hope to have Hylophobia posted here at the end of the week. It turned to be a disaster compared to what I wanted it to be, but you'll just have to deal with it.
Since we're on the topic of videos I'm making, I have yet another film due Thursday. And the clincher is that I haven't even started on it yet, other than throw a couple ideas around. It's an assignment for my film class, and it's gotta be a PSA on something, or anything we want. I'm balancing between the idea of making a video to raise awareness for VVS (Vertical Video Syndrome. It's terrible.) or making a film against littering. Both would be very comedic based, but right now I have three days to write, shoot, and edit this video. I can't work on it today, and I can't film tomorrow. That means tomorrow I have to write, Wednesday I have to shoot, and Thursday I have to edit. Just another workload I have to struggle to get through. It'll be tough, but I've always managed to get through these things. Hopefully this project won't be any different.
I've also got several pages of writing I've got to write and revise tonight, as well as eight other stories I need to critic and review. Fun, right?

If I survive this week I'm quitting college forever.
